Introduction
HONG KONG JADE ASSOCIATION actively promote the jade industry for continuous prosperous growth, ensure for a good business environment for its members to conduct business, engage in exploring potential market opportunities, help strengthen the members of our society towards a better understanding of the jade industry through various media activities and events.In 2005, the section of Canton Road from Jordan Road to Kansu Street was officially named Jade Street. In 2009, the Association bought at huge cost a 4,000 kg jade boulder from Myanma and named it “Hong Kong Giant Jade Stone”, which was placed at the junction of Canton Road and Jordan Road to serve as a landmark.Hong Kong is famed as a shoppers’ paradise because of the great variety of quality assured merchandise on offer. In recent years, to encourage its members to observe fully the definition of “natural fei cui (jadeite jade)” under the Trade Description Ordinance, the Association has been promoting its “Natural Fei Cui” trademark so that members will find it easier to conduct business while consumers have more confidence in buying jade products in Hong Kong.
